In June of 2024, I wondered toward the North Beech pier. As I did, I noticed a spectacular reflection off the choppy water with light dancing on the waves. There weren't many people around and it was warm evening. The sun was low in the sky. The reflection, as it always does, seemed to provide a path to somewhere out in the distance. As the light came close, the bright, colorful hues popped against the shallow, receding tide and the cool, wet, grey sand. Perhaps it is that ray of light, sparkling as it does, that always seems to stop me in my tracks and inspires me to paint.
